Scott Gonzales, 4th Degree Black Belt

Scott Gonzales, owner of Desert Dragons Martial Arts Studio in Peoria, AZ, leads us through a beginner level Cardio Kick Boxing class. I think all of you know that I’m not the most co-ordinated person and I’ve always found it very challenging when attempting to find a Kick Boxing class. I did Scott’s class immediately after editing it and I have to tell you, it’s really good. The class will give you a basic foundation of punches and kicks and then slowly move on to combinations. He focuses on repetition, which is very beneficial to those of us that have always been the joke of any Step, Zumba, or any Dance Cardio based classes we’ve (I’ve) taken over the years. You actually learn the move before you move on to the next challenge.

Scott is currently in the process of opening his own martial arts studio. He is a 4th degree Black Belt. Scott has been teaching Kenpo Karate for over 16 years and holds a teaching credential in secondary education in Ca and AZ. Scott feels his experience teaching in the classroom helps him to tailor his instruction to the specific needs of his clients. Please contact Scott at scott@desertdragonsaz.com

Please try the class and let us know what you think. I think you’re going to like it!  We’re hoping to get Scott back in the next few weeks to film a class at the next level.

Julia Pearl

Hey 101er’s

We are now offering Yoga. Julia Pearl, a certified Yoga instructor, has joined our team. Julia has been Yoga certified since 1995 and has been a certified Personal Trainer for a couple of years. She has studied Yoga with teachers all over the country and continues to grow in her practice. Julia believes in taking a holistic approach to fitness and that we can control our health, the way we feel, age, and look with the food we eat and our exercise program.

Please try the Yoga classes and share your thoughts. I’m giving it a try tomorrow. I watched Julia film this session and her passion for Yoga is infectious.

I’m so excited to welcome her to our ever growing family.
