Time for Change

Sunset in Phoenix with the Ry

Well…it’s almost here. The after holiday guilt fest. We’ve been busy expanding and growing the site in anticipation of the busiest time of year for the Fitness industry. It happens every year, people decide that this is the year they’re going to lose the extra weight they’ve been carrying for years. That’s a great idea, but most people aren’t willing to make a true commitment to themselves and their health. Ultimately, getting in shape is all about consistency and commitment. Most people look at fitness as an all or nothing proposition, working out for hours and starving themselves, and when the weight doesn’t drop off as fast as they feel it should they become discouraged and give up. That spare tire didn’t just appear overnight, it slowly inflated over time, I encourage client’s to be patient. I encourage our client’s to develop a REALISTIC plan! Commit to that plan, make it public, and don’t beat yourself up if you have some missteps.

Most importantly…no matter if you achieve all or some of your goals, develop a maintenance program. Maintenance is the most difficult part of any program. I’m a firm believer in living an 80/20 life, if you eat right and exercise properly eighty percent of the time your body won’t be an issue anymore.

Our family is making a major change this December. Our son, Ryan has opted for early graduation and is moving back to Ca until he begins college in fall. Wow! It’s gone by so fast. Ryan is a wonderful young man, thoughtful, smart, funny and he has a very unique view of the universe and his place in it. I guess this is what all the work was about, independence. I’m absolutely positive this is much tougher on his parents than him. We’ll miss him and hopefully he remembers his parents will always be there for him.

Let’s make 2009 the year for real change! The world becomes more challenging every day, let’s take the time to appreciate friends, community, family and most importantly ourselves. You can do it! There’s only one you!

And remember…a membership at Web Workout 101 makes a great gift!
